This is a 374-page paperback manual measuring 8 inches by 11 inches. Following a brief introduction to the
OGT and what it takes to pass the math portion, the book moves into five chapters that address the state-mandated benchmarks 10th grade students in Ohio are expected to achieve. These chapters can be studied in any order and each one concludes with 12 to 28 practice
OGT problems focusing on the particular benchmark addressed in that chapter. A seventh chapter is devoted to three sample Ohio Graduation Tests in math. Students who are confident of their abilities, may want to skip the instructional/benchmark chapters and go straight to the sample tests to gauge their own aptitudes. An appendix that appears at the end of the book contains lessons on how to use the
OGT Scientific Calculator that is a required accessory for anyone taking the test. It also contains tips on becoming familiar with the calculator before entering the test room. At the end of the book is a reference sheet with basic formulas and a glossary of math terms students will need to know to move through the test easily in the prescribed two and a half-hour testing period.
