This 294-page workbook by the Research & Education Association (REA) is an 8-inch by 11-inch softbound manual. Pluses – Like similar products, the “Best Test Preparation for…Mathematics” begins with a description of the OGT, why it is important and test-taking advice and strategies to help students face it with confidence. The chapters are clearly divided according to state math standards so students can focus their attention on specific or needed areas. The workbook contains hundreds of graphs, charts and drawings to illustrate the math concept being addressed. It appears easier to use than a similar competitor product, “Roadmap To The OGT in Math.”
Minuses – The workbook appears to have no specific author, but is a collaborative product of the REA editorial staff who are not Ohio educators. In fact, there’s no evidence or statement that the book was even reviewed by anyone from Ohio. The publishing company is headquartered in New Jersey. The answer keys for review sections are hard to find and would require significant “flipping” by users.
